An August Auction…

I felt like changing gears a bit after the commissioned wine paintings I have been working on. I painted this water lily composition on an Aquabord panel which, coming from watercolor paper, is a gear change in itself. Watercolor behaves differently here than it does on watercolor paper. The beauty of Aquabord is that it allows you to get some really nice transparent glazes – plus – you are able to pull up wash layers revealing the underlying colors. Pretty neat. And fun. With lots of surprises. Just what I like!

I had fun here and thought I would let you have some fun as well:

I decided to run a 5-day auction on this piece. Any & all bids welcomed. Let’s say we start with a $20 bid? Highest one takes the work at 10:00 pm, Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Shipping (which should be a nominal charge) is not included. Note: Normally, comments [in this case, bids] are subject to my approval so your bid may not appear immediately – I will try to keep up as promptly as possible…

OR, if there are any impatient bidders, $400 takes the painting right away.

Please post your bids in the comments below. I will probably get additional bids on my FaceBook site that I will post here. Use my Contact Link to send your name & address if it looks like you might be a winner!

GOOD LUCK!

Painting description: As you see in the photo above, “PondStar” is a colorful watercolor on a 12″ x 12″ Aquabord panel. The 2″ sides of the Aquabord are sealed, neutral, light woodgrain. The work does not need framing (though it can be)and is wired with hardware to hang right away.
