“Vignettes in Paint: Watercolors & Acrylics by Robert Leedy
I am busy finishing up paintings and framing before I head down to Lake Wales, Florida at the end of the month where Bok Tower Gardens is hosting an exhibit of my paintings in “Vignettes in Paint: Watercolors & Acrylics by Robert Leedy” which runs March 28th through May 28th. The public is invited to an opening reception which will be held Saturday night, March 28th, at 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.. 25 – 30 works will be on display and available for sale. It should be an enjoyable evening.
The exhibit is open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.. If you go, be sure to allow plenty of time to view the tower, stroll through the gardens and have lunch in the Blue Palmetto Cafe. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous year round and should be especially beautiful this time of the year.
The city of Winter Haven is nearby and is also my birthplace. If you are in the area and have time, there is an excellent self-guided tour of the architecture of my father, Gene Leedy, a Winter Haven architect who is considered one of the founding members of The Sarasota School of Architecture. The Leedy Lifetime Works Tour has created a driving tour of many of Leedy’s works throughout Winter Haven. An audio CD is available for purchase online or you can download the audio here to burn to a CD.
I hope to see you at the opening on Saturday, March 28th!
