“Artichoke, fruit, tastevin, eyeglasses & mallet in two colors”
“Artichoke, fruit, tastevin, eyeglasses & mallet in two colors”,
by Robert Leedy, 2008,
watercolor on Arches 140 lb. Cold Press paper, 6 x 9 inches,
Collection of the artist
This is a small 6 x 9 inch watercolor I did of a still life I set up in the studio. Rather than have the usual full range of color in my palette, I completed the painting in two colors – French Ultramarine and Quinacridone Gold. I found that without the other colors available, it was necessary to punch the intensity of the two colors in various spots of the painting.
There’s a little green in there for St. Patrick’s Day!
