Shirley,
I am reminded of the dilemma of the coqui, a small tree frog indigenous to Puerto Rico. When I lived on the island, I quickly realized the coquis' song was a wonderful, natural sedative for falling asleep. The name actually derives from the sound it makes: [ko-KEE]. The coqui is a beloved fixture of the island of Puerto Rico and I could not believe it when I heard of Hawaiian residents who are raging mad about the accidental import of the coqui - probably through container ships; the coqui is not a predator - it's basically environmentally sound - the Hawaiians just do not like its nocturnal calls. They are trying to exterminate the poor little coqui. Sounds like a bunch of cranky Kamaainas suffering from insomnia if you ask me, bro'....
